About the Curfboard Curfboard Gravity
The Curfboard Gravity truck is one of two non-spring, non-bushing systems we track. Instead of returning to centre via mechanical force (spring tension or urethane compression), it relies on the rider's weight redistribution and lean angle to drive turns — closer in working principle to a surfboard fin than to a traditional skate truck.
Mechanism. A 45° angled mounting plate and a pivoting front axle let the front wheels swing freely under load. When you lean, the truck rotates; when you straighten, gravity and your body weight return it to centre. There is no spring to fatigue and no bushing to wear, which gives the Curfboard the longest expected service life of any front-truck mechanism in the catalog. The trade-off is a learning curve: the truck does nothing on its own, so beginners can find it lifeless until the body mechanics click.
Who it suits. Surfers and snowboarders who already think with their hips. Riders annoyed by spring fatigue or bushing creak on previous boards. Anyone chasing a more meditative, less mechanical carve. Skip it if you are a casual cruiser or a complete board-sports beginner — the muted feedback rewards proprioceptive riders and frustrates the rest.
For where this fits in the broader mechanism landscape, see our truck types guide; the springless category sits at the opposite end from the SwellTech and Smoothstar designs. Compatible Curfboard completes are linked below.
Pivot Angle
How the front truck pivots when you lean. Higher angles = deeper, more responsive turns.
Lean Angle (Rear View)
How the deck tilts rail-to-rail when you carve. Higher pivot angles allow deeper lean.
Turn Response
How easy it is to initiate a turn. Based on truck type and pivot angle.
Riding Profile
Suitability for each riding style, based on truck type, pivot angle and best-for tags.
