Data controller

The data controller is the owner of the website SurfSkate.app (surfskate.app). Contact details can be found in the Legal Notice.

Data we collect

SurfSkate.app is a static informational website. We do not have registration forms, login systems, or collect personal data directly.

However, the following third-party services may collect data automatically:

Google Analytics

Collects anonymous browsing data for statistical purposes:

  • IP address (anonymized)
  • Browser type and operating system
  • Pages visited and visit duration
  • Traffic source (search engine, direct link, etc.)

Legal basis: Explicit consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR). Google Analytics loads only after you accept analytics cookies. It measures page visits and affiliate-link interactions. Rejecting or withdrawing consent stops our analytics events; shopping links still work. Advertising consent stays denied.

Google Ads / AdSense

May collect data to display personalized advertising:

  • Advertising cookie identifiers
  • Ad interaction data

Affiliate links (Amazon and other retailers)

SurfSkate.app participates in the Amazon Associates program and in affiliate programs of other retailers (SkatePro, Blue Tomato, Evo, Tactics). When you click one of these links and complete a purchase, we may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Cloudflare uses the country associated with the request to select a supported retailer store. Amazon links use our own redirect, not OneLink. You can choose a different Amazon store. That preference is saved in local storage as affiliate-amazon-market; it is not a visitor identifier. The store-selection endpoint returns only the Amazon marketplace code.

With analytics consent, an affiliate-click event includes the source page, retailer, link position, product identifier and resolved Amazon store when known. Retailer tracking IDs distinguish content groups, not individual visitors. We do not receive the identity of Amazon buyers or connect an individual order to a site visitor.

When you click an affiliate link, the retailer (Amazon or other) sets a cookie that allows them to attribute the purchase. That cookie is governed by the retailer's own privacy policy, not by ours. We do not set any affiliate cookies of our own.

Legal basis: Legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.f GDPR) to support the editorial and technical costs of running the site. You can avoid any affiliate tracking by not clicking these links.

Purpose of processing

  • Statistical analysis: Understanding how the site is used to improve its content and functionality.
  • Advertising: Displaying relevant ads and measuring their performance.

User rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access: Know what data we process about you.
  • Rectification: Correct inaccurate data.
  • Erasure: Request the deletion of your data.
  • Objection: Object to the processing of your data.
  • Portability: Receive your data in a structured format.
  • Withdraw consent: Use Manage cookies in the footer to withdraw analytics consent and choose again. You can also clear existing cookies in your browser.

International transfers

Data collected by Google Analytics and Google Ads may be transferred to Google servers in the United States. Google participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Security

The website is served exclusively over HTTPS to ensure connection security.
